Tails are wagging over the announcement of the 2013 VetShopshopAustralia.com.au Surfing Dog Spectacular, which is set to take place for the second time running at this year's Noosa Festival of Surfing at 4:30pm on the 10th of March at Noosa Main Beach.
The
four legged surfers rode a wave of success last year, drawing the
largest crowd of the entire event and this year is tipped to be no
different, with Natural Balance Dog Trainer, Chris DeAboitiz and pro surf dog, Lani already in training to steal the show.
Rumour
also has it that Rama, the young kelpie, who scored last year's best
wave award has been practicing getting his paws on the nose as well and
has no intention of letting any other surf pup get their claws on this
year's trophy.
Head Veterinarian at VetShopAustralia.com.au, Dr
Mark Perissinotto said he was overwhelmed with the response of last
year's event and had no hesitation with running it again this year.
"The
event was so much fun for both surfers and spectators in 2012 and we
are so excited to be having the surfing dogs back on board again at this
year's festival of surfing." he said.
Dr Perissinotto also
announced that the surfing dogs would again be making their splash as
part of the opening ceremony and assured that spectators would not be
disappointed with the show.
"We hope the same crowd will come
along this year and show some support for the furry surfers who will no
doubt be giving the pro surfers a run for their money."
"It
really is just a fun event that the whole family can come along to
enjoy; it's not every day you get to see a dog riding a surfboard!"
